Our students will join with a Geography class from the University of Malaya for a field course and research experience in the Kuala Selangor area of Malaysia in mid-May, 2011. The students will visit and learn about agricultural practices (rice paddy farming and plantations), tour the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz power plant, visit a floating village, aquaculture facilities, the Jeram Landfill, the firefly park, and historical towns that are experiencing growth pressure from tourism. The U.S. and Malaysian students also will collaboratively design and conduct group research projects.
There is still limited space for the trip and we can accept applications until March 4, 2011. Don't miss this opportunity to experience a culture and environment very different from your own.
Additional information about the course and the application process can be found at: Malaysia Course 2011
