Graduates of the Geography and Planning Department at SUNY Buffalo State are prepared for professional positions in consulting, local, state, and federal government agencies, and transportation and planning services.
Students who get a degree in geography will understand the relationship between the natural environment (weather, climate, soils, natural vegetation, landforms, and watersheds) and the human environment (economy, ethnicity, religion, language, politics, and urbanization).
Students who get a B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning are prepared for positions as planners in their area of expertise. Our Urban and Regional Planning program provides students with an understanding of how communities are structured, what their needs are, and how they are governed.
